If it is installed as:

sudo ./GoogleEarthLinux.bin

then it will not be able running or linking to server.

To fix it:

1. rm -r /opt/google-earth
2. reinstall as user
   ./GoogleEarthLinux.bin
3. rm -r ~/.config/GoogleEarthLinux.bin
